Sorry to Crash but Need Daycare Help/Advice
I am due to have a baby in early February and I am having a really hard time trying to find daycare. My problem is I only need part time 2 days a week about 16 hours total. No daycare that I have found so far will let you do this. I am thinking that I may need to branch out and try and find in home care or someone else's home but have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations? I can't be the only person with this problem and I am so upset I haven't found anything yet. Also I would like to ad that I don't need daycare until the beginning of May. Thank you all for help with this.
Forgot to ad: We are looking in the areas of Middle Island, some Medford, Farmingville, Holbrook. We live in Middle Island and my Husband who will be pick-up works in Holbrook.
Also how do you go about finding a nanny or sitter to come to your house?

Re: Sorry to Crash but Need Daycare Help/Advice
Because the law requires no crib sharing I don't think you're going to find part time infant care in a center.
I'd imagine you can find a sitter / nanny for $60-100 a day depending on the hours they're needed.
Good luck

Re: Sorry to Crash but Need Daycare Help/Advice
In home day cares offer part time. My DS goes full time now, but in a few months will be going part time. I found the large centers may offer part time, but its almost as $$ as full time. I love being in a in home day care. If you want to know more about them just FM me

Re: Sorry to Crash but Need Daycare Help/Advice
I was in that situation last year. I worked 2 days per week, and we needed care for 20 hours per week. We found a wonderful nanny who was available part time. Some people have a "nanny-share" where they share a nanny who works for both families. We actually found our nanny on Craigslist, and we absolutely adored her. (she's in the Bronx, otherwise I'd send you her info) Good luck!
