Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
I am posting here to expediate a response. TIA
If you are graduating with your masters, do you put your bachelors degree on your resume?
I want to put it on because I did my undergraduate work in my field and graduated with distinction, but I'm not sure if it looks right. The sample resumes I see in a resume writing book I'm using does not list undergrad work when there is a masters on it.
I'm confused.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
I have my masters and my bachelors on there. I have never actually seen a resume with just a masters degree listed, and no undergrad information.
ETA: Even when I've looked at CV's of faculty and administrators for higher ed positions, they have all of their education from bachelors through doctorate.

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
I put mine together in a section titled "Education" and have my master's first and then my undergrad.

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
Thanks! Another question: I was always told that your resume should not be more than 1 page, but is it okay if it's 2 pages if you need to include relavent info?

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
It depends on your level of professional experience within the field you are applying for. The standard rule of thumb I've heard is that if you have at least 5-10 years of experience, you can go onto the second page (not counting internships/part time positions).

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
I have bachelor's, master's, and doctorate ABD and list all under education. I list bachelor first because that school was the best. I agree, 5-10 years relevant experience you could go onto second page. I only went to second page when I had at least 3 conference presentations and a fairly large section of published journal articles that took up most of the second page. I think blank space looks bad, so I wouldn't do a page and a half or a page and a quarter--unless you really need to fill that entire second page, condense to 1 page.

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
Ok, the only thing is though is that I have 2 degrees to list, 3 internships to describe, 2 certifications to list, and I decided I will only list 1 job (unrelated). Should I take out academic honors/awards, objective? I need to list my affiliation because that is professional. How small can I make the type?

Re: Sorry to post here, but quick resume question
I would list it all under your education, b/c its all relevant and important...you can make the font like a 10...that's what mine is on my resume and its fine

OK, that's not really enough for 2 pages. Stick with one. I'd get rid of objective--if you degree is SLP or whatever and you are applying for an SLP position the objective will be self-explanatory..."To achieve a SLP position!" I have over 5 years of experience and got rid of honors and awards. Someone actually said to me no one cares about any of that after a certain point...All they care about is experience.
