Reasons I would'nt live on the main road would be for safety concerns ( children, pulling in and out of driveway) and noise.
Even with a fence and all I would never ever feel comfortable having any children play outside.
How long would it take lets say to back out of your driveway every morning? You could be sitting there for awhile, no?

I wouldn't live on a main road for many reasons; Dangerous if you have children or pets in the family, difficult to back out of the driveway, traffic noise, feeling uncomfortable doing activities in the front yard (This is probably just me, but if I lived on a main road, I'd feel uncomfortable doing things in the front yard with all the people passing by and watching me.), it'll be tough to get to know your neighbors. Oh, and a silly one if you have children: no ice cream man
