SORRY..this is my last post on this..I PROMISE!!! (Work related)...WWYD???
I know I have made many posts on this, but I need one last bit of advice
I work FT now, and just came back on Monday. I asked about working PT, because I love the company I work for. If PT was not offered, I liikely was going to resign.
Now...I was possibly offered 2 days a week...(Which is exactly what I was hoping for), but one of those days MAY be Saturday.
My question is...if you are someone who is used to having off on Saturdays...would you be able to start working on Saturdays, knowing that you would have off 5 other days?
I am only concerned about events, parties, etc...but they will work with that.

I would do it on the condition that if you needed a rare Saturday off, it would be the same as if you needed a weekday off if you worked two days during the week-KWIM?

I would def.do it. I tried to get them to allow me to be PT at my job and they said no, so if they offered me that I would run with it.

Yes, I would do it. Try it out and see how it goes. Is there a way they will let you work another day IF you had an event on a Saturday?

I would try it - you were going to resign anyway if they didn't offer you part time, might as well see how it goes.
I would ask if you could possibly rotate a Saturday if you needed to like some of the other posters suggested.

As much as it would stink to work every Saturday, I would try it. This would mean you would only need child care for 1 day per week, and you still have Sunday as a family day.

Great point...I am still thinking about it...so hard to give up Saturdays! But so nice to have the time home alone with DS, too!

Agreed.
My SIL did this after having her DS (who is now 8.5) she worked 1 day during the week (my ILs watched DS and then 1 saturday and her DH watched DS) It worked great because she didnt have to worry about 2 days of child care, and her DH became really involved with her DS from an early age doing everything on his own made him very comfortable dealing with his young children....8 years and now 3 kdis later, she works 3 weekend days a month (either a saturday OR a sunday) and it works well for them.
I would totally do it!
ETA: whenever possible for family stuff we always work around her schedule so she can be there if possible.
