So....so many things. Depressed, scared, angry....rambling.
We prayed to have the opportunity to even have IVF as a choice. I don't want to seem ungrateful. Now that we have been cleared to start, we do not know where we are getting the funds from. We are applying for the grant next week but don't want to put all of our stock in that. Looks like we have to "find" $20K somewhere if we want to have a baby. Mind you, that is just the CHANCE, nothing is definite! DH wants to do the plan through Integramed where you have 3 shots at it for one price. Sorry I am having a little pity party for myself tonight. I just don't understand how there are people who can have baby after baby, planned or not. Women in jail and homeless can have a baby. Teenagers can. But healthy and happily married people cannot. How on earth do people pay for this???? At this point we are leaning towards taking it out of 401K. The penalty we would pay is peanuts compared to the overall cost of IVF.

What dr are you going to? Have you applied for any grants yet (if you're eligible)? I know capital one has something (www.capitalonehealthcarefinance.com/fertility/) I came across online when we were looking before we were approved for the grant. Maybe look into that? Otherwise I'm sure there are other options. Do you have medical insurance? If so will they cover your meds? Please keep us updated and hang in there- I'm sure others on our board will have some good advice for you. Sorry you're going through this

Re: So....so many things. Depressed, scared, angry....rambling.
We go to NSUH and LOVE everyone there.
We just got the okay to start on Monday so I have not done that much research yet but then again there is nothing to really research.
We have medical insurance and absolutely nothing whatsoever is covered.
I spoke to the finance lady at the hospital today and she gave me the info on what to do to start applying for the grant. I am getting it together and sending it out on Monday. But I am not having much faith about that...
I don't know what else to do? I just don't understand.
Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. Now you should go back to bed and relax

I'm sure some ppl have some meds that they aren't using that they'd be happy to donate to you... you should post what you need- I'm sure that would cut down on the cost! GL sweetie!!!

Thanks you are soooo sweet!
I don't know everything at this point exactly for sure...but I remember the doc mentioning lupron and progesterone. I am sure there is more but nothing is definite yet because we told him we would not be starting until at least October due to finances.
I will post and ask when the time comes!

Re: So....so many things. Depressed, scared, angry....rambling.
I just wanted to let you know that DH and I were self pay for our IVF. If you have medical insurance and NS is on your plan you should pretty much get your visits covered as well as b/w, sonos, and some meds. We have no IVF coverage and did have that covered, don't forget some of the meds you'll need aren't exclusive to IVF so they should be covered.
as for paying, we put it in a 0% interest credit card - it was the best option for us. We weren't eliglible for the grant but there is also the INCIID scholarship, sorry I don't know the website, but you can google and find it. also for the meds, some weren't covered for me, but you can join DesignRx (i think that's the name, it's free) and they'll help you get the meds at a lower price.
Good luck!!!

We are also self pay...you just do what you have to do...beg, borrow and steal
I try not to think of all the $$ spent on this so far...so depressing
And, there are many wonderful, generous people on here that have donated meds to us girls in our time of need
