Southside Mommies.....

Just curious... I've seen posts about every other hospital. Who plans on delivering at Southside Hospital?

I'm actually excited/proud to. All of my 7 nephews were born there, my brother and I were born there and my dad was born there in 1941!

I'm delivering there. I had my first DD there in July 2007 & I LOVED LOVED LOVED it there. Do a search or I'll bump the hospital thread....I've only heard good things. The nurses rock, the maternity ward is totally redone, they have about 10-12 private rooms & the food is great.

I'm will be delivering there as well!!! I am excited because I had a great experience with DD back in Jan 07.

I delivered there in 06 and 07 and I had a great experience both times. I LOVE the maternity ward there.
If I were to offer any advice I'd say to request a private room; it's totally worth $125 a night!!!!

im not and actually really really upset about it. i did my nursing rotations there and LOVE IT!

I delivered DS at Good Sam and was not impressed with the maternity ward. I delivered DD at Southside and it was everything I imagined being in a maternity ward would be. The ward is cheery & bright. The nurses are phenominal...I mean one is better than the other. The rooms are big and they have many private rooms (which I highly recommend). I have never heard a bad experience at Southside!

I had DD at Good Sam and hated it.
I had DS 4 months ago and absolutely loved it.
Definately get the private room. It is terrific!

Oh yay! All good reviews! I've even heard that they got better this year! I know my insurance does not cover private rooms but worth a consider to foot the bill as I really do want to try to BF and my biggest hang up (although hoping I fall into the you don't care after you have the baby who sees what) is privacy.

I honestly do not recall if my sisters or sister in law had a private room but I also do not remember them ever having anyone in the next bed. I'll look back and check my pics to see if I have good shots of the room.

And my cousin just delivered at Good Sam but had to take her classes at Southside because GS did not offer.

I just had my DS there in December. I got the private room. Totally worth it!!!

They really are great, had an awesome experience.

Feb. 3 labor & delivery from 6:30-9:30
Feb. 6 breastfeeding from 4:00-6:00
Feb. 10 c-section from 6:30-9:30

I'll be delivering there in March.. It is a beautiful unit and VERY organized and clean... the nurses are phenomenol ( but then again I'm totally biased-- i work there!)

My sister's friend does too! Are you in Maternity? L&D? And it was years ago but my mom's friend was the lady who took the baby's first pic! What a job!!!

Hey, you know how the plus size gowns are? I want to try to get my hands on one so I can use it for a pattern to make some pretty ones for me!!!

I am a L&D nurse.. Do you mean those lovely large marges as i call them? they are hideous, with the squares all over them? When is your tour? If i'm on i'll sneak you one..

I worked w/ Dawn @ night. She is soo nice.. I know she i s PT right now, so let her know when you are coming in and tell her to get you the large Marge!! GL
