For me, I know when people are concerned when they STOP asking and move to this weird state of pity.

I feel your pain - at least once a week I am told how horrible I am for not giving my child a sibling. People s!ck, and there's not much you can do about it, except to vent on here and get lots of hugs

I like to tell them all the details so they are sorry they asked
You know I caught myself saying it to someone recently. Then I realized, people only say it because they have nothing else to say and they feel they need to say something to you. We live in a cookie cutter society.
At least we know better (or I should have).

Most people don't ask me anymore because I lost a child at 36 weeks...but I did get that question a lot.
One day this guy at my job asked me (even after my loss). I didn't want to explain my IF issues, but he obviously knew about my son. I just said I wasn't ready yet. Can you believe he asked me why not?

I have always had a snappy come-back depending on the person who asked...so they would never ask again.
My MIL lives with her boyfriend..I don't really care if they ever get married...she once said "when are you going to give me a give a grandchild?" I said, "oh, when are you and Bob going to get married?" That stopped it right there.

After 2 years and 5 iui's and finally a healthy DS, they now ask "so, are you going to try right away for another one"...um, yeah, let me just shoot out another $5g's (my out of pocket last year) out of my azz and poof a baby will come...
I know the feeling....

Seriously - I cannot stand when people ask me that! I have had about 4 people at ask me that question in the last week. Some woman at work actually congratulated me! I was like "what are you congratulating me for?!" I wish I had something good like that to share!
If they only had a clue.......................
