soy formula and constipation

We switched DS to soy yesterday. This morning he had a normal poop, but then today he was crying randomly and passing tons of gas but when he finally pooped again it was only a tiny bit and it was hard (like the consistency of adult poop).

Is this normal for switching formula? Does a baby normally get constipated when switching formulas or is it possibly a reaction to the soy?

Not sure if it's a soy issue but Reilly did take several days to adjust to the new formula when we switched her. I would see how DS is tomorrow and if you are still getting hard poops, call the ped and see what they say.

we were told it would take up to a week to 'see' a difference in formula...

emma goes once, sometimes twice, sometimes NO times a day on soy. She's been on soy since she was 2 months old (she just turned 3 months)...she's doing well on it!
