Spanish classes for kids
Has anyone enrolled their DC in a Spanish class? What do you think of the class and instructors? Is your DC learning the language well? Do they enjoy going?
Does anyone know of Spanish classes for a 4 year old in the Stony Brook/Port Jeff/Mt. Sinai/Miler Place/Coram (or close by) area?
TIA!

do you speak spanish yourself? if so, just read and speak to your child in spanish as much as possible! that's the best way for them to learn! sorry i dont know about classes but i'm a spanish teacher in a middle school :) I'm not hispanic but i try to use spanish with my girls when i can. it's hard though because we dont use it at home, my DH speaks NO spanish.

YES! Get music too that DC can listen to and they will soak it up! Any exposure is good but this could save some $ and time. YAY for parents wanting to teach their kids another langauge.

Yes, I bring DS there too it is in westburry and I love it. Its's called Spanish all year. It might be too far for you, you should look at the other program called Spanish immersion that has multiple locations(Karacg knows this one too I think).
I speak Spanish to my son and eventhough he understands everything he didn't speak it back until going to class. I read, sing to him and try to find Spanish cartoons for him. Not easy but it's worth it. Good luck.

I am planning on doing a Mommy and me class with my DD this Sep at the Spanish Immersion Workshop. They have multiple locations, but it's not in the area you are looking for.
Maybe you can contact them to see if they have recommendations in your area.
