Spanish teachers: movies for 6th grade?
When I get back from the spring break, it will be my last week of work before maternity :) I want to show a movie because I don't want to start a new topic when I'll be leaving in a few days AND I am so DONE right now that I know it's just going to be so much worse after the break. Do you have any suggestions? I think it would be better in English, with a Hispanic theme so that they will get more out of it. Gracias :)

We've always shown Selena and talked about the impact. It's nice for the kids to speculate how popular she may have been and since most of these kids don't even remember when her songs were popular, it's not so bad. Many of them have a hard time even believe that is Jennifer Lopez.
Cartoon wise and such I can't help you we are never even given the opportunity to show movies in our classes anymore except for standard deviants for about 5-10 minutes

when i was a teaching assistant in 7th grade spanish she showed the movie Quinceanera the kids liked it. It was about a girls sweet 15 and her dad getting legalized to stay in te US

ya, I'm showing that movie to my 7th graders, but didn't want to show it to the 6th grade too because then they'll see it again next year! I love Selena, but I think it might be too adult for 6th grade :(
