Spayed tomorrow...She's Home
Well Daisy goes in tomorrow to be spayed. I know I shouldn't worry, but i'm terrified something will h appen. Joe's taking her because I just can't. Maybe a little back story would help...... in June of 06 we took a 2yr old cat named Sadie from a friend of ours. She weighed maybe 2.5lbs. She was a horrible eater and come to find out only liked soft food that was seafood flavored Yes it was expensive, but she ate it and LOVED it. She also got some calorie paste/vitamins every morning to help her. She went to the vet and got her shots. We sched to have her spayed and declawed. In July of 06 my husband went to AT for 2wks and my step-father died. Sadie was all I had since Gus was a duck hunting school all summer. I changed her appointment. The day I took her in I felt just sick inside. I called my mom crying on my way home and I just said.....I have a really bad feeling about this. the next day they called and said she was doing ok. I called to come pick her up the following day and they said she wasn't eating and she was still to groggy fromthe sedation. I went to work and about 2hrs later they called to tell me she had died. I was devestated. They did an "autopsy" and found nothing. They took samples and sent them to MSU. We found out later she had kidney failure. About 6m,onths later the pet food recall started and i'll give you 3 guess what brand of wet cat food she ate.....yup the kind that was recalled. I don't know if that's what did it or if it was her severe malnutrition but the end result is the same...she died
Ok now that the novel is alomst done I am scared to death for tomorrow. What would I do if something happened to my Daisy Mae Mae????? Sorry I never thought this post would be so long.
*UPDATE*
We brought her home yesterday. They said to put her in a room so she wouldn't jump or move around to much, but man o man did she wanna move She was jumping like crazy and playing like mad! She is more snuggly, but even a kitty hysterectomy won't slow her down! She curled up in bed with me and never left my chest all night. It's great having her home! Thank you guys so much for your support. We are giving her the pain meds, eventhough she isn't acting like she needs them, just to help make her comfortable. Thank you guys again and I have included a pic of when we brought her home yesterday She was soooooooooo excited to have some soft food to eat

Re: Spayed tomorrow
DONT WORRY -
You have to have her spayed. You are being responsible - she will be fine

Re: Spayed tomorrow
Don't worry, you are doing a good thing and being a responsible pet owner. Your kitty will be just fine! My puppy was just spayed three weeks ago, so I understand your anxiety.

Re: Spayed tomorrow
my Maggie looks just like her and she got spayed 2 weeks ago
she is fine, we didn't even give her painkillers- b/c with in 2 hours of coming home (the next day) she was jumping from the counter and running around like she didn't just have major surgrey
she is 100% fine and getting into more trouble then before (she wrecked my closet over the weekend)
