Speaking of pools..

since we are not moving anymore, we decided to get one. We've been thinking of doing it for a while and when we decided to stay, we decided to go for it!

So what are the pros and cons of having one?

PS - anyone watch King Of Queens last night at 7 on Ch9? I was hysterical....it was the episode where the next door neighbors get a pool overlooking Doug and Carrie's yard!

We are buying a home that has an inground pool.
It would not have been my choice primarily because of safety reasons- our future kids and neighbors kids, but also because it makes your insurance go up, it is a b&tch to clean and maintain, and expensive to open and close. Plus, it takes up a lot of space covered during the 9 winter months you cant use it.

That said, the plus is that it is wonderful for entertaining and having pool parties and summer bbqs and looks pretty.

We got a semi inground b/c I hate ubove ground pools take up so much space and an eye soar and we didnt want to pay the taxes if we got an inground. our pool is only 20 inches out of the ground and we have a deck around it, we absolutely love it- the mess in the beginning of breaking the ground oh god what a mess but in the end worth it! good luck!

We just had a semi inground put in too. We are in the process of building a deck around it too. The mess for digging the hole was alot worse than I thought it would be. We are slowing cleaning our backyard up and had hydroseeding done to restore our grass.
