Speaking of Snotty RE

Speaking of snotty real estate agents, I have a story for you all. So you know we were looking at townhouses. Well I called a realtor about a unit in Waverly Park in Holtsville. Well she calls back and says that she has 5 2 bedroom units all priced at 300K. I said how is that you have 5 all at the same price, she said that they were all rentals and the former owners were selling them BUT you would pay your mortgage payment to them, not an indepentant bank. SO this sounded fishy to me, so I said "Well, these are the highest priced units, why" and her reply, NO Joke "Lady, are you interested or not?" I was floored! Obviously, we didn't use her or by in Waverly, but it def. made me get a bad taste in my month.

This is all hearsay since we are closing on 3/7/07 on a unit in Woodgate.

WOW, she'll make alot of commision with that kind of attitude! Chat Icon It's unbelievable the things that they think they can get away with sometimes

The seller's RE agent for the house we are buying is nasty to us all of the time. She threatens us that at any moment she will put the house on the market if we don't get her this and that. I can't tell you how upset she has gotten me during our buying process! Chat Icon

Once we got the commitment letter my DH made it clear that all calls are to be directed to our attorney from here on in - I have not gotten 1 call since!! Chat Icon

It always seemed every time my husband and I showed the slightest bit of interest in a house, they would call me the day after and tell me there was an offer on the house and to bring my highest bid. I thought that was fishy but maybe true. Sooo I always felt the pressure and let them get to me. Not my husband though, he's always the sound rational one. LOL.

When I first saw the house that I am in contract with now I emailed the realtor associated with the mlsli listing and another realtor I was working with. The realtor listed for the house called me back first and said the seller is very motivated and to go check it out. The other realtor (who I was working with) emailed me telling me what the owners had originally put the house on the market for (to intimidate me) and not to bid much lower than their asking because they won't accept bids, only final asking prices. She said the owner would not be so willing to negotiate. This realtor I guess felt she had leverage because she knew by the tone of my voice that I loved it. Little did she know I met with the owner of the house without any realtor found out that everything the realtor said was a lie and I ended up going through with buying the house with another realtor. If she would have just been honest she would have had the commission on that house.

its insane, I'm in a sales industry myself, but I find some of the so called "loop holes" ridiculous. I swear, if I was told one more time that "this house has a couple of offers already", I was going to throw up!

Re: Speaking of Snotty RE

last year I wanted to look at a few condos in Baybridge - in Bay terrace

it was friday at 4pm and she wouldn't show them to me unless I came with a pre-approval letter

I told her my DH is a mortgage banker - but he is in the middle of a closing now- so he can't take care of it today

finally after 5 phone calls- I told her I didn't like her sales tatics and to leave me alone!

Re: Speaking of Snotty RE

I bet that not all of the units she had were the bigger ones anyway. Something was definitely up with that situation.
