speaking of super sweet 16s...
so i work at a school as a speech therapist and see a 10 year old girl, whose family apparently has $$$. SO, today we were talking about what was on her christmas list and she said " laptop", cell phone, Tiffany jewelry ( what 10 year old even knows what TIffany is?!). THEN...we were talking about something else, and she mentioned that she already has a car for when she can drive- apparently her dad bougth 2 corvettes- one for her, one for her sister for when they get their licenses! shes 10 years old, and already has a nicer car than i ever will! LOL what is this world coming to??

I dont believe it because by the time she is ready to drive the car will be old...then Daddy will have to buy a new one for her!!

Re: speaking of super sweet 16s...
One of my bro's X's had a vette before she could drive too.. Her Father LOVED restoring old cars and got too old cars and restored them with his daughters (as bonding so they would learn about cars and since he had a stressful job he needed a hobby to blow off steam) funny thing is she couldn't drive stick and needed my brother's grand am for her driving test, then made him drive all the time and later after HS she went to St. John's and there was no way she was parking it there so she bought a POS old sentra.. lol'
Could it be a similar situation?

Re: speaking of super sweet 16s...
Oh boy...talk about spoiled brat. I teach religion once a week and last week while my class was working on a textbook assingment I was walking around the classroom that I use and was reading the "Dear Santa" letters from the children who use the classroom all week long. They are in the 1st grade and I could not beleive what they were asking for on thier lists: Cell phone, ipod, PSP, Wii, I was just shocked.
I'm sure more than half of these kids will get these things - I just can't understand why parents would buy them??? Whatever happened to baby dolls and toy trucks??? They have plenty of time to grow up - buying a cellphone or an ipod for a 6 or 7 year old is ridiculous...or maybe I just don't have a clue

That is ridiculous. I used to work in a very affluent school and one of the 2nd graders yes a 7 year old had a real tiffany bracelet. She lost it in gym class and told me "my mom will get me a new one."
