I am certified in art but am looking to get cert sp ed. How would I go About doing so? Do I have to go bk to school and do the whole masters program over? Or is there a program you can get your cert through

I would call BOCES. They would be able to tell you exactly what you need. It may just be 4 classes and the tests you would have to take to get certification instead of a whole master's degree. I know Western Suffolk BOCES was offering the certification classes for something like $725 a class, four classes over the course of a year.

You can also get in touch with the certification office at your last university. The last time I got a dual, the lady there walked me through the checklist on the state website. It literally prints out what you need. Good luck!

Definitely check with BOCES. I got one of my certification through them and they just told me what additional classes and tests I needed and I think they processed everything too if I remember correctly.
