Speech, is this normal?
He has a strong vocabulary at 14 months, at least I think so. And since I am mommy, I am right.
Anyway, most of his words he pronounes with the letter 'D' to start. The word might not start with the letter 'D', but he is definately using the words in the right context. For instance, I begin blowing on hot food and he says 'Dot! Dot!' It's his expression for 'hot'.
He has a few other words like this. They don't begin with the letter 'D', but he pronounces them this way. I know most kids say 'dis' for 'this' and 'dat' for 'that'. But he says other words without starting them with D. He calls cheerios 'EE-OHS' and Jesus is 'E-sus'
Normal for most words to be pronounced with a 'D' beginning? TIA!

VERY normal, Kelly. Its actually called "fronting" and it is very appropriate. i asked a speech therapist when Cailen was doing this. At 18 mts old, he still says "dah" for yeah (we call him russian!!!) and Dye Dye for Bye Bye.
