Yes. He has 2 sons w/his ex-wife and they were in the process of adopting a daughter when he left her for Tori.
This was taken off wikipedia:
McDermott married Spelling after they met on the set of Mind over Murder. His previous marriage to TV chef Mary Jo Eustace was dissolved in September 2005. McDermott has two sons, Jack Montgomery (born to Eustace in 1998), and Liam Aaron (born to Tori Spelling on March 13, 2007). He and Eustace also adopted a daughter, Lola, in 2005, but McDermott has joint custody of his son only and is no longer legally responsible for Lola. Spelling is pregnant with their second child, a girl, due in June 2008.[1][2]
He looks so different these days.

From what I understand, he left his wife while they were in the process of the adoption. I guess he never felt he was her father??
But yes, we NEVER see pics of his first son.

We probably never see pics of the first son b/c the paparazzi are not following his mother around 24/7 like they are with Tori.
