spending money and guilt
DH and I both work and have good jobs. We just bought a house this past summer and we're saving for a family, as well as home improvements. DH is not a scrooge when it comes to money, but I do feel guilty whenever I buy ANYTHING for me. He doesn't get how women just NEED certain things. Like, bags and shoes, ...he doesn't see why I need new ones for a new season. I am not a shopaholic and I don't spend a lot of money. I do feel like I work really hard though and sometimes I just want something new to make myself feel better. Even something as little as new makeup. I find myself shopping in CVS all the time, but then I'm disappointed. I would love to go out to Sephora and just pick up all the cool new products everyone raves about. Sorry just venting.

Re: spending money and guilt
If you both work, you deserve to spend a little on yourself too especially if you dont spend alot!
I buy what I want when I want, but im VERY low maintenance and practical in general,(im not saying that youre not) so my big spending is not that much at all.
dont feel guilty, only another woman would understand why these little things go a long way. maybe explain to him that it's the same as him buying XYZ (whatever gadgets, toy or hobbies he has? hopefully at least one?)
my husb is the spoiled brat little boy husband who LOVES to indulge (but his spending habits have done a 360 since getting married)between hobbies, toys, sports, games, etc. so he understands aLL TOO WELL the need to splurge. so i have yet to shock him. he's much more of a spender than I am.
