spent the weekend in Winthrop - anyone have severe round ligament pain?
Baby M is fine; I'm working on it. I spent this weekend in Winthrop b/c I woke up at 3am on Friday with really intense abdominal pain. We went to the ER and then Labor and Delivery. After a LOT of testing, bloodwork, and three sonos... everything came back completely normal. That's a good thing, but it stumped the docs for awhile. They think that I just had a severe bout of round ligament pain.
It took them awhile to figure out what they can give me, but they found an anti-inflammatory that would work and not hurt the baby. But I couldn't take it long term, and I took my last dose yesterday at 10am. And now I'm all FUBAR'd again.
If you have/had severe round ligament pains, what did you do that helped?? I've tried everything from yoga stretches to green tea to warm baths, and NOTHING relieves the pain for more than an hour or so. I haven't slept much since Thursday.
Help?

Re: spent the weekend in Winthrop - anyone have severe round ligament pain?
Do you have any fibroids?
I was in the er for about 11 hrs Thursday and Friday for extreme lower abdominal pain and pressure. They did all sorts of tests and the only thing they found was a fibroid that was leaning on my cervix causing all the pain and pressure.
They gave me Indocin which is aan anti-inflammatory to take every 6 hrs for 4 days. It was amazing and completely stopped the pain.
The dr said fibroids can act up around this time since the hormones are changing again and the blood supply is going more to the baby.
Anyway, hope you are feeling better

They gave me indocin at the hospital, starting Saturday afternoon and had my last dose Monday at 10am. It worked pretty well when I was on it, but they wouldn't keep me on it for any longer. And now I'm slowly creeping back to how I felt before.
I had about four sonos last week (my level II on Tuesday, two internals and an external between Friday and Saturday) to make sure the baby was all right. No one mentioned anything about seeing any fibroids. But since indocin worked on me, and it typically works on people that have them, I have another appt on Friday to check for them again.
Did I miss the memo? Isn't the second tri supposed to be easier??

Re: spent the weekend in Winthrop - anyone have severe round ligament pain?
I get round ligament pain if I have been on my feet and walking a lot, it was horrible last week one day when I had to full on SPRINT after my 2 1/2 year old....couldn't sleep all night!
It went away after some Tylenol.....and a lot of rest!
Stay away from green tea, it's been "linked" to causing contractions....
