Spilled a whole can on soda in my brand new Canon Rebel T1i. Camera shop?
Anyone know a place in suffolk - closer to Shoreham where I can MAYBE get it fixed? I had just bought it for $7 or $800 or something when I was getting off a plane and dropped my carry on bag, which I just put a can of soda in for later. It punctured and spilled into the camera. Any ideas?

I just texted my SIL, she works at a camera store. I'll let you know what she says.

My sil said that there is probably nothing that they could do and in the slim chance that they could it would be a lot of money. Could you do what you do to a cell phone when it gets wet, like air it out, put it in rice, etc?

I don't know of any camera stores near Shoreham (I live in Manorville) but there is B&H Photo and Berger Brothers in Farmingdale. I love Berger Brothers. You should call them and ask if there is something you could do. OR...Call Cannon directly. I sent my Nikkon lens to Nikon and they email you an estimate before they do any work. You can say "no thanks" or agree to pay. It's worth a try! Good luck
