Spin off of Beth's post-Does your child play with toys?
Mine does. And he happens to love getting presents and playing with them...

Yup. She goes through stages of having say 5 favorites, will play with those practically exclusively for weeks, then will switch to new favorites.
However, are there toys she never plays with simply because we have so many? Absolutely.

Lily LOVES her toys. She plays with the majority of them (even though she has a lot), and continues to play with older toys as well as her new toys. She's equal opportunity.
I love watching how the way she plays with toys changes as she gets older....

Yes, I like to rotate his toys because if they all sit out there then alot will get ignored. So I keep some aside and when I see he's "over" what's out, I bring out the others. Works out well and he's able to play independently without getting bored.

he can be upstairs solo for 2 hours building train tracks.
loves his car tracks
loves his building toys
loves his cd player
loves puzzles and books
can play with his trucks forever.
he's really good at entertaining himself.

Yes! But right now her personal favs are puzzles, coloring and playdoh (but I still consider them "toys). Little People is the only real bust in this house.

My six year old hasn't ever been much of a toy player...he has a crazy imagination and is more likely create things out of boxes or construction paper than play with toys. It actually makes it really hard to figure out a gift to give him!
My four year old plays with toys like crazy, he always has little cars in his hands wherever we go and plays out scenes with them.
Funny how different they can be.

Yes, but he also will create stories with his toys. He will tell me what adventure his cars or trains are going on. Where they are going and what they are doing. He loves toys though. He also loves doing creative things too.

yes, at 14 months both my sons are VERY into toys right now...they used to just throw them around but now they play with them correctly

Yes, DD is 3 and she is VERY into her toys. She can play by herself for hours. Her favorites right now include:
Her Barbies and Castle
Princesses
board games
blocks
littlest pet shop
all her dolls and stuffed animals
puzzles

Noah too....He takes all his men and or his batman people and plays for an hour or so making up scenarios...I love listening and watching it.
