Re: Spin off of Beth's post-Does your child play with toys?

Yes - he loves playing and I love watching him play.

He also loves stuffed animals. Is actually borderline obsessed with them Chat Icon and all little figures (animals, characters, little people) I love the way he makes them talk to each other, kiss each other, etc. SO darn cute.

He also loves crafts. He loves to color, playdoh, anything like that.

The best thing is watching him open the gifts. "TOYS! TOYS! TOYS!!" Chat Icon

Nope! As a matter of fact, I will probably be posting soon that I am going insane over here! She will play school and store but a grown up has to be involved. I rotate toys and do everything possible to get her to entertain herself but she is either cutting and pasting things she isn't supposed to or right under my feet.

ds definitely plays with his toys... and spreads them throughout my entire living room.... it is fun to watch him combine them to create new uses for each toy

Abby divides her time between toys and books and when it comes to books, she divides her time between "reading" them and "eating" them.

While Ella does play with some toys she is way more into books, coloring, and drawing. I was just mentioning to DH the other day it is a sin to see the abundance of Toys that we have for Ella and she does not play with half of them. I think we will be donating some of them.

My DD is almost 16 months old and LOVES her toys. She plays with everything she has. She does have a few favorites though like her kitchen set, Magna Doodle, Tadoodles crayons and coloring book, and bristle blocks. Now that she is older she has learned to use most of her toys the right way and she really seems to enjoy everything. Chat Icon

EDIT - She also LOVES books and has since she was just a few months old. She loves looking through the pages and pointing to the pictures and she loves being read to as well.

Robbie and Noah do play with toys. They have a lot of stuff that they rarely play with - but it's fun to go downstairs and pull out things they haven't really thought about and get them interested.

Things that they have outgrown or just aren't into gets given away provided it's in good shape.

Love them! We do rotate out toys every couple of weeks since we don't have a lot of space....they do use toys appropriately now but also just bang them around. They love books too

And one of their favorite things is playing with the couch pillows

Yes!!! Kaitlyn loves to pretend to read to her dolls, she dresses up and has tea parties w/ them, makes them dance together, sets them up and has them all talk w/ each other. She uses her kitchen to cook for them too. She has me cracking up for most of the day. She loves her magnetic melissa and doug dress up doll and can play w/ that for a long time. Some days she also plays w/ her baby sister's toys and shows her what to do (when she isn't stealing them from her). We get a lot of use out of our toys- there are a few misses but I really try to pick things that interest her more so than b/c something is popular. I forgot she also loves to build too, so any kind of building toys are a hit too.

Luca loves toys- though we really need to get rid of a lot of them that he doesn't even touch. He mostly plays with his castles/playsets (he's got about 5) and action figures and dinosaurs. He is also starting to like playing games, but you have to play with him.

yes, Liam LOVES his toys. I'd say since 10 months he's really started. He doesn't play everything as its meant to be played but actually just yesterday he was taking his cars and crashing them together on the floor. It was the first time we saw he kinda getting the concepts.

Yep- loves her toys. I love that she loves them too as they encourage her to be creative with her play.
