Spin-off of Peep Sunflower cake UPDATED with picture
Do you think it would look silly if I used pink peeps for the petals and yellow skittles for the center (trying to go for a Gerber daisy look)
Due to ds's food allergies and DH's diet restrictions I have to make a non-chocolate cake for Easter and have been trying to come up with a work around since I know all the kids will love the peeps on the cake.
Update: This is how it ended up looking. Not perfect, but my family all really liked it.
I also made a kit kat cake.

Re: Spin-off of Peep Sunflower cake
I think the pink peeps would be fine but I think the skittles would be difficult to eat. Can he have the hard sugary confetti things? I don't know what they are called. I posted my pic on the other thread with the yellow things. I picked them out of the funfetti icing.

Oh, that's a good point about the skittles. Maybe I'll try to run by Michael's later and see what they have in the cake aisle.

Re: Spin-off of Peep Sunflower cake
Maybe Yellow M&Ms instead of skittles? I think they are easier to eat
ETA: Duh, never mind. No chocolate!

Re: Spin-off of Peep Sunflower cake
I got yellow Wilton Sugar Pearls at Michaels to use for the center.
