We don't spend a lot on actual gifts to open on christmas morning. This year we gave each other the new roof and the landscaping as our birthday and christmas gifts. Not much fun, but we really needed the roof and we love how the yard looks now, so it was worth it.

honestly, we probably spend less on each other than we do on all the kids in both families!!
This year, probably 30% on each other
Since we both have December birthdays, we splurge on each other for those, and go pretty cheap for Christmas ...

I splurged on him this year, on something he's wanted for years. So he's well over 50%. In years past, I'd say 25-30%
