Spin-off to FTWMs and preschool - gap between school year and summer camp
My parents currently watch my son, but I am sending to him a part-day toddler school in the fall (with my parents watching him the other part of the day), and then the following year I plan to send him to full-time nursery school with extended hours and basically use preschool like daycare. At that point, I plan on not relying on my parents at all.
I hope this isn't a totally stupid question, but since nursery/preschools are mid-Sept to mid-June, and summer camps (even run by the same preschool) are July to mid-August, what do FTWMs do for the gaps between the "school" year and the summer camps?
Are there day cares that take kids for those few weeks? Do people hire short-term baby sitters? I know I am thinking way in advance, but it just occurred to me that I am clueless here.

her pre-school had seamless transition from one too the next. At most I needed coverage for one day.
It cost the same but was just basically fun time with some field trips. I never left her though. My aunt takes her in the summer, but yes summer programs exist!
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply! I would love if my nursery school had year-round coverage, but I didn't see that any of the schools I was looking at. I talked to the director and she said that some/many of the dual-income families hire the teachers to babysit during the off weeks, so that arrangement sounds promising.
