spin off to prenatal massage question
So, now we learned most people say no prenatal massages in the 1st trimester - does that include DH rubbing your sore shoulders or feet? DH started to rub my shoulders this morning, and I was really enjoying it, and then I remembered this whole thread and stopped him abruptly! You think its OK for those tiny mini-massages from our non-professional DH's?

Re: spin off to prenatal massage question
Unless you plan on suing DH if there is a negative outcome to your pregnancy....then I think that the mini massages are great for you and for your relationship. The real reason that massage in the 1st trimester are prohibited is because of fear of litigation should the pregnant woman miscarry. So....prop your feet back up on DH's lap and enjoy!!!!

I wouldn't worry. I asked a massage therapist why you can't get a massage during the 1st trimester and she basically thought that it was b/c if something happened to the baby, the customer may sue. But she didn't believe that there was any problem with actually getting a massage during the first trimester.
For the record, I have been told that when rubbing feet or ankles, it shouldn't be done too hard b/c there is supposedly a pressure point that can induce labor. I think the point is around the ankle.
