Spinoff - Best Price Thread
I was thinking it would helpful if we could start a thread where everyone posts where they find the best prices on common household and baby items.
This can of course change depending on sales and coupons so it would be great if we could update it regularly.
I know there are lots of bargain hunter mommies on here that are really really good at what they do - so please share!!
My contribution may be outdated so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Best price I found for Similac Advanced was at BBB. $28.74 for a case.
Best value for Huggies diapers (most diapers per box) BRU $29.99 (plus they usually have coupons).
PS - if you don't have a BRU near you - TRU prices are the same.
ETA: That price is for RTF

Re: Spinoff - Best Price Thread
I buy the formula at Target (we usually get Similac Advance powder). This past weekend I did what I never thought I would do - I bought the Target brand formula and it was 1/2 the price. She took it no problem!
I buy Pampers by the case at BRU, especially when they have their coupons. Or else Target usually has a sale.

Re: Spinoff - Best Price Thread
For us, NOTHING can beat walmart's prices on diapers, wipes and formula. combine walmart w/ a manufacturer's coupon or two an you will save tons of $$. Yes, you have to deal with walmart but I got over it as soon as I realized that the extra $$ is keeping home two days a week and going into Gracie's 529 account.

CVS often has Nutramigen on sale for those whose ins. doesn't cover it. W/the CVS card you can get it like $21/22 per can (as opposed to $26/can elsewhere)

For those that frequent Walmart...I'm nto sure if their prices are better than BRU, but they do price match with proof (well, some cashiers don't ask for the proof, but some are sticklers!)
Down here where Walmart is also a supermarket, they do have the lowest prices around (healthcare items, pasta, dog food, etc). And they take coupons.

I also buy most of the jarred food at Earth's Best website or IGA in Greenport (which def has better prices then the other supermarkets).
I buy CVS diapers and when they have a sale stock up like mad
I also buy the diaper trash bags at the $1 store.
And I buy the water for Andrew at the $1 store.
Wipes at Costco.

We've been using the Target Formula for a few months now and it's saved us at least $20 a week.

Re: Spinoff - Best Price Thread
BRU has the best price I can find for Similac Advance Powder. It's $21.99 a can plus the $5.00 off coupons.
Target also has the best prices on cleaners of any kind.

Re: Spinoff - Best Price Thread
I buy our diapers and wipes at BJs. My mom belongs to Costco and I asked her to pick up a bix of their brand diapers - I was shocked - they were almost double the price of BJs and I dont like them. I am going to try and return them. Edited to Add - I dont buy formula or jarred food anymore but BJs had great prices on these as well.

Re: Spinoff - Best Price Thread
I personally dont find great prices at BJs/Cosco because i do my sale/coupon combos and I by faaaaaaar beat their prices on almost everything.
and for me its not so much WHERE the best prices are, its WHEN. All of these stores are trying to beat competition so they have these crazy sales like shoprite had Huggies for $3.99 (the $13 pack) last year. I stocked up BIG TIME and then had to return a couple of them for bigger sizes.
Its a matter of flipping through the circulars. and i know many people dont have patience for that. Getting Breyers for 99cents and Diapers for $4 is worth it to me.

Also, if you flip through the grocery store circulars, you can use the "money off" coupons...Like King Kullen had a $7.50 off a purchase of $60.00 in their circular...I used it at Stop & Shop.

Wow, they let you do that?! I get those King Kullen coupons all the time, but I shop at Stop & Shop. Good to know!
