I have and I'm not sure why it skeeves people out. It's hygiene!
I agree. I don't get the whole skeeled thing.
I guess because it's in a more public space than the privacy of your own home.
I find it weird when I see people brushing and spitting into the sinks at work. Those single-use toothbrushes would be preferred if people HAD to brush at work.
Yeah I wouldn't be skeeved to DO it, I just get skeeved a little when someone is spitting in the sink right before I have to wash my hands in that sink.
But not that skeeved. Not much skeeves me

Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
I brush my teeth at work when I have a dentist appointment. I'll also floss if I need to.

Re: Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
I never did but I should. I'm going to start because now where I work at my new job all the bathrooms are single stall so nobody will have to watch me. I have terrible teeth and always get tons of cavities so I bet it will help. I bring floss with me to work as well but would never do it in front of anyone.

Totally the same - I'm not skeeved by much but that just weirds me. At my old job we had someone who took out their dentures daily and put them in a cup with whatever cleaning stuff you use fro dentures, sitting right on the edge of the sink after lunch.
Now that is skeevy!

Re: Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
My DH always brushes his teeth after lunch, he keeps a toothbrush and toothpaste at his desk. I use to brush my teeth too when I was working.
Not sure why anyone would find someone brushing their gross, that's just so weird to me.

But you don't put your toothbrush down on the sink or anything, at least I never did.

i think its impossible to handle all the utensils and turn on the faucet and turn off the faucet using sterile technique.

It's just tooth brushing, not surgery. It's not that difficult to get it all done without touching much. If you have to put something down, lay it on a paper towel. It's really not a big deal.

Re: Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
OMG I am totally skeeved out by this. People do it all the time here and I want to gag when I see them.
It's a public bathroom, I barely want to walk into one to pee when I am out of my home. I just want to pee and get out as fast as I can without touching a lot or smelling anything.
Public bathrooms are not cleaned properly no matter how 'clean' it looks. I think of all the germs and bacteria sitting on the sinks and then to see people brushing their teeth like they are in their own bathroom
I will stick to the wisp brushes

Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
I have done it on occasion when really necessary, but it skeeves me on both sides of it. Touching things in a public bathroom and brushing my teeth - yuck! But also, going to wash my hands in a sink where someone just spit all over (and you know at least some little particles of spit landed on the counter, faucets, etc) - also yuck!

Re: Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
As far as why it skeeves me out...
I'm not a germaphobe in any other area of life, but the air in a public bathroom has so much bacteria and so many germs. When you flush those toilets, germs come up into the air. People are touching everything with germ-infested hands. It seems like an unsanitary place for a toothbrush. Also, disease can get into your gums and enter your bloodstream. It just seems like too much of a risk for me, personally.

Honestly, with what is expelled from the toilets when they are flushed, you are probably right.

The faucets in our sinks have sensors. You really don't ever have to touch a surface in our bathrooms. Auto flush, auto sinks, auto towels. Honestly, I think my office bathroom is cleaner than my house bathrooms. My bathroom isn't cleaned every day and my kids aren't conscientious.

I don't brush my teeth at work, but people on my floor do it. I hate seeing other people spit.

everything in our bathrooms are automatic. My toothpaste and toothbrush never go near anything.
And our toilets are in a separate room within the bathroom.
Plus our bathrooms get cleaned 3x a day. THey are probably cleaner than some peoples homes!

Re: Spinoff - do u brush your teeth @ work?
Yes Not every day, but if i have a salad lettuce gets stuck in the little spaces. I keep toothbrush, toothpaste in a makeup bag in my desk.
i also layout paper towels on the counter, and keep the toothbrush in a case.
