Spinoff: 2nd time mommies
Did you notice this time that your DH isn't as concerned with you being pregnant?
The first time around he wouldn't let me do anything...he cleaned our entire place; was making dinner; was fine with me lying around when I was exhausted and was careful using household cleaners around me. He also was always asking how I was feeling, etc. .....this time we have a toddler so I've been non-stop and he hasn't stopped me. He doesn't stop me if I'm doing laundry; cleaning, etc. It's just a different mentality I guess.

Yep. Not that he really pampered me the first time, but at least he would be concerned about how I was feeling. This time his attitude is that I've done this before so I knew what I was in for. It's been the source of several arguments in the last few months. He's been trying to help me out a little more lately now that I'm getting bigger & he can see that some things are getting akward for me to do. I don't want to make him sound like a complete jerk, he helps me, but it's not like the first time around.

my DH didn't want me doing anything this time around even MORE, b/c i ended up prematurely rupturing my membranes with my first.

I don't think it's a matter of not being concerned but it's kind of like a "been there, done that" mentality, kwim? The only time he gets really concerned is if he see's me overdoing it with cleaning or organizing (which I have been doing a lot of lately) or if DS is jumping on me or hitting my stomach.

T, that's funny b/c that is when Ray gets concerned too....when DD is playing with me and falls on me or if she's climbing on/near my tummy.
I suppose guys, its knowing what to expect already and seeing that we're not going to break if we're straigthening up.
Last time it was "we're both in this together" & doing all the birth classes and registering, etc. ....just different.
