Spinoff: Budget. Moviug back to LI - expenses? Please help!!

We are looking to move to East Meadow. Can you tell me how much your car insurance is, homeowners, taxes, water,oil, water and anything else that you can think of?

Sorry if this is too personal but I want to plan much better than I did the first time.

We currently live in Putnam (in our own home) and will save booddles on travel expenses (DH works in Queens). But, LI is a bit more expensive.

car insurance = ~$1000/every 6 months for both cars

homeowner's insurance = ~$1000

Taxes = Nassau taxes are MUCH higher than Suffolk Co, so it can range over $10K!

Water = $60/70 every 3-4 months

Oil = Budget plan of $180/month

Electric = Budget plan of $180/month

Then, don't forget to add in groceries cost, gas cost, LIRR cost (or subway), savings, misc. costs, etc

I live in Bethpage:

Property taxes: $500/mo

Water: $5/quarter

Homeowners: $80/mo

car insurance two new cars: $200/mo

oil: $2000/yr

lipa: 1500/yr

if the commute is to Queens then figure gas.

the car insurance is higher in the town of hempstead then any where else in Nassau county- and east meadow is hempstead

I pay about $220 for 2 new cars in suffolk and my agent told me to expect them to go up about 10 to 15% if I regristered them in Long Beach- b/c it's the town of hempstead

I also have more then the minium coverage and a $500 deductible

Thanks guys. That's really around what I am paying now. I knew that Car Insurance would higher and possibly LIPA.

I'm not too worried about gas because our commutes will be cut down quite a bit.
