spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
I am shocked some of you guys waited in recovery so long w/o babies!
what is the reasoning for it? I could not imagine, the 9 months was long enough. Just curious for my next delivery

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
We had Lily with us the entire time so we didn't have to wait at all. We all were in recovery longer than we should have been waiting for my pump for pain medicine. I think we finally got a room around 3:30 am.

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
Mine was an emergency c-section, so I was put to sleep. I had DS at 2:40am and didn't see him until around 9am. I just remember everyone coming and telling me how cute he was, and all I wanted to do was see him It was the only part I hated about my experience.

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
I was put under general anesthisia (sp) and I didn't see my baby for 24 hours- she was in the Nicu anyway- so I wasn't able to get down there until the next day when I was disconnected from the morphine and the cathater was taken out.

I am in shock! They gave him the sponge bath in front of me and everything. I think we were apart for 10 minutes while they wheeled him out to see my mother.
I am so sorry that happened to you guys

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
It does sort of stink- but at the same time- she was on oxygen and needed to be in the NICU- so I don't begrudge the staff for what happened- they had to do what they had to do- although I'm sure if they would've let my labor progress naturally and not give me the pitocin, i probably wouldn't have had a crash c-section.

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
I was with Jordana for about an hour immediately after the birth. They put her in my arms as the wheeled me out of the OR. I tried to nurse her in recovery. Then they took her to the nursery to do some routine testing and would bring her back to me when I went up to the room. But it took FOREVER for me to get feelign back in my feet. And then I requested a window bed and they were still cleaning it up. So I had to wait about 2 hours without DD. But once I got up to the room, they brought her to me immediately.

Re: spinoff from Pregnancy..csection recovery
I had to wait about 2-3 hours to see Matty but he had heart issues (which resolved themselves after delivery). I had to ask for them to bring him to me ASAP.

Same here. And, while I was in recovery any tests they had to do, they did right there in front of me.
