Spinoff from TTC board: Who is your pediatrician thread?
Since there are a lot of times this topic comes up - let's start an 'official one'.
Who is your pediatrician?
What is the address/phone number?
How many people in the practice?
Any additional info?
Do you have a doc that you have been to that you WOULD NOT recommend?

Dr.Martin Kaplan ~ He delivered me 29 yrs ago so I dont know how much longer he will be there but there is also
Miriam Salerno and she is great !!

What is the address/phone number? 2245 Jackson Ave, Seaford - (516)826-5900
How many people in the practice? 4
Any additional info? I think all 4 dr are great and I know my DS is in good hands. I also love that they are open 7 days/week.
I only wish it was a little more personal...since you dont get to choose which doc you want to see (and usually see a different one for each visit) its hard to build a relationship with them.

Same, and I wish it was a little better about seeing the same MD - but it's great all the MDs get to know your child.
Plus, I wish they coordinated their answers a little better. I know a few other people that go there - and according to who you get, answers are different. Ex - one MD there told me to wait until 6 months to start cereal - the next time I went I was told 5 months by another MD.

Dr. Wren is def. more up my alley. Lang is a little too agreeable for me - always says OK to whatever I ask. But she's a nice woman (and Ryan thinks she's pretty LOL)

same here and I LOVE Dr. Rubin. He has a very "dry" sense of humor, but he knows his stuff.

OMG...he was my pediattrician growing up!!! I can't believe he is still in practice.

Same here. He was my dr when i was little and i rememered how gentle he was with me so i knew he would be great with my DD. hes only there 2 or 3 days a week tho.

Dr. Horowitz is my fave, my second fave is Dr. Chalson and then third fave is Dr. Nunez.
I think there is a total of four doctors in the practice. I like all but one and not because of a particular bad reason or anything, just didn't click/kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Dr. Narain and Dr. Rivera. My DS sees Dr. Rivera the most. He is AWESOME. Caring, patient and just makes you feel like a friend.
They have 2 Nurse Practitioners that I know of. (Joanna, Jennifer). Both are great too.
They have 2 late evening days and Saturday hours.

We go to the Islandia Office
Their phone # is 631-434-1770
Most times we've been there we've the Greg Kniffen who is a NP. He is awesome. The only person I did not really like is Dr. Selden. He just rubbed me the wrong way, I'm not sure why.

I agree with getting different answers. One dr told me to start with rice another said oatmeal. Not a huge difference but I think a practice would give the same instructions. That is weird that they told you 5 or 6 months.

We use Dr. Irwin Schwartz in Setauket. He has a single practice. We love him! He was recommended by a couple of friend who have used him for years. He's very gentle and definitely knows his stuff. He is right on Main Street in Setauket and his phone number is 631-751-7676

We use Dr Grello in West Islip. 631 422 0700.
There are 3 dr's and a PA. We usually see the PA, she is great. No complaints

There are 3 doctors in the practice: Dr. George, Dr. VanCura and Dr. Bonafede. They rotate unless you specifically request one over the others. They are all fantastic and each seems to have a different type of bond with my kids.
The office has Saturday hours and I have been able to see a covering doctor for a Sunday emergency.
I used to go to Grello (and loved them) - but I followed Dr. George (and Dr. Bonafede) because I was very unhappy with the Front Desk at Grello once Evelyn left. Dr. George is very patient and mellow and has a really great way with kids. He explains things thoroughly and always seems to remember you and your children. Dr. VanCura is a new mom - she is young and very nice. She has a lot of patience with panicky moms like me - taking the time to listen to you and give you advice without being condescending. Dr. Bonafede is like.. the den mom. She is extremely competent and kind of no-nonsense - which is great.
The staff is good natured and accomodating - they demonstrate a lot of grace under pressure and always do their best to work with you.
