My SIL is graduating high school in June and I want to get her something special from us.

not sure how much you want to spend but my aunt took me on a short cruise for my graduation- it was out of NY
jewelry is always a good gift since she will have it and be able to remember who gave it to her and the occasion
I also got shares of Disney stock from a relative which I thought was awesome- but I'm a disney freak & was going into business

Pandora bracelets. I got my niece one for her sweet 16 and it was a huge success. Other people bought charms too, so it made it even more special.

is she going away or dorming?
does she have/need a laptop?
the things I wish I had most during college (besides help paying for it ) was my own computer, text book money (HOLY COW) and maybe some new clothes (thinking my freshman year)
along those lines, I'll suggest
a gift card to Target or Bed Bath is she's going away so she can hook up her dorm room.
depending on how much you want to spend, either a lap top or a gift card for an amount towards a lap top (a visa check card would work so she can shop around)
Or, getting a gift card or opening an account at her school book store...or even going with her to buy some of the books. I would have LOVED that. I literally cried the first day of classes when I went to buy those books. it wiped me out!
I hope to do these thngs for my younger siblings when they go to school. maybe not the most "glam" gifts, but like I said, any of the above would have been mana from heaven for me.
congrats to her!!! 
ETA: I just realized I ASSumed she was going to colege. if that's not the case, I'll think of other stuff. sorry.

These are great ideas. I love the idea of getting a gift card to the school bookstore! That's something every student can use!!
