Spinoff: How long till u revealed all?
For the girls who answered...that there SO knows all about them...and they DID admit to shameful things in the past...how long were u with ur SO (dating) b4 u opened up about certain things??

Ditto, there might still be some things that aren't revealed, who knows. I never had to "own" up to my past life ... there is really no need to share every gory detail for no reason - the past is in the past.

I agree. It had to do with feeling comfortable with DH and the topic coming up. I didn't sit him down one day and say, "there's something I need to tell you..." and make any confessions.

"certain" things right away in our get to know you talks.
there are some secrets I will keep to myself and in my heart that my DH does not need to know about.
Like in titanic the old lady says something like- a womans heart is a deep see of secrets.......

The important things that meant all to me or really had affected me - he knew before we were even dating. We had become very good friends for months before we started dating. So by the time we started dating, he pretty much knew about the good and the bad in me

I told him some things when we were first dating (probably over the first 4 months). After that he asked me not to tell him anything more. Funny thing is that I told him the more important things - but I think he thinks of it as 'if she's telling me this, what isn't she telling me..'
Bottom line - he prefers to think there was a reason for me to wear white at my wedding.
etd. I should probably add that while I'm not ashamed of anything I've done, there were things that a long term SO would want to know about.

Same here. There were things that took longer, of course. I would say that the biggest "confession" , if you will, came out at around 2 - 3 years of dating.
