It takes me a full day to do everything on Elbee's list, the weekly grocery shopping, and putting away the clothes (the laundromat does them for me.)

About 1 hour one week and 2 hours the other. I spoilt myself after our wedding and got a cleaner once every two weeks. I would pay any money not to spend one of my precious days at the weekend cleaning.Chat Icon

DH does monst of the cleaning. Also, we clean every night, so when we do "heavy duty" cleaning, it takes about 2-3 hours.

I feel like I'm always cleaning! our house is big, and it's overwhelming at times. We're looking into getting someone in every other week to clean.

I can do the LR, BR & Laundry in about 2 hours. The grocery shopping takes about 1.5 - 2 hours including putting it away and breaking down freezer stuff to reasonable portions. The bathroom takes 30 minutes. The kitchen is always clean so maybe 15-30 minutes to do the floor, wipe down the outside of the appliances and any spills inside the fridge.

All together: 5 hours

Re: Spinoff: How much time does it take you to clean each week?

It used to take me 1/2 day. All morning until early afternoon. Now I have a cleaning lady and I do my laundry on Wendesday nights and spot clean throughout the week.

It takes DH and I about 5-6 hours to clean the whole apartment. (we have a very large apartment, 2 BR including a dining room). This does not include laundry which takes a little over 2 hours.

Re: Spinoff: How much time does it take you to clean each week?

I rarely do it all at one time. I usually clean the bathroom a couple of nights during the week, then vacuum and dust on the weekend. On another night I'll clean the kitchen really well. I go to the grocery store a couple of times a week, and do laundry about every other day.

The good thing is, it doesn't take up one entire day. The bad thing is, rarely is everything super clean at the same time.

See, my DH COMPLAINS! Oh, it's too noisy when I vacuum or clean the bathroom or floors and he can't hear TV well enough!

I usually clean Sundays. It takes a few hours.

That's whatDH does.

I prefer the clean all at once, but I can never get it all done. I used to be better at it when I lived alone.

It actually really bothers me. It takes me an entire weekend & it's still not finished.

3-4 hrs when it's the both of us. When it's just me, it takes me about twice as long.

Re: Spinoff: How much time does it take you to clean each week?

I work from home so things like laundry and cooking and clean-up from cooking, straightening up I do during work time. (No idea how much time).

The cleaning girl is here for about 3 hours every week -- but we keep things tidy. DH is better about cleaning than I am!

About 3 hours when we do it together. Otherwise, it takes me forever! I have to pull everything out and the put it back again.

With Dh's help it could take a good 2-3 hours.
I run the vacuum more than once a week, (I have a cat)..
I also do laundry maybe 2x a week as well.
We will use a weekend morning to focus and clean real good.
