Spinoff: In general, do you complain when a product or service is not what you expected?
I ALWAYS do.
Last week I had a really bad experience with staples print anf copy. They didn't have my order ready on time so I called corporate and they called in a coupon and also assured me that my stuff would be ready. When I went in, I was there for an hour, first they couldn't find the order, then it was wrong, then they were trying to overcharge me, finally i got the copies for free. Then I still called corporate again to complain about how I had been treated and they sent me a $25 gift certificate.
I also somewhere have a LOT of fedex coupons that are about to expire from a bad experience I had when they were shipping my printer. I didn't even pay for that shipping, but they sent me lots of coupons.
I think you should always complain and not let them get away with it. If you're paying for a service, you should get it right..the first time

no, I rarely do
I always say I am going to write a letter but then I forget about it
I'll complain about Customer Service while on the phone with someone, but I don't call and complain after I receive a product

rarely if ever....i'm not too picky and i hate getting people in trouble so unless something is REALLY horrible I'll just deal with it and never use them again

DH always does. We have gotten a lot of discounts, $$ off, even free nights stays at hotels when he has complained.
Heck, he even sent an email to King Kullen complaining about the quality of the cold cuts and how they were sliced. King Kullen called us and spoke to us and offered to give us next week's cold cuts for free.

Never at a restaurant, knowing what they do to food when you complain!
But I have for packaged food I bought that wasn't right...Doritos that were cool ranch in a Nacho bag, etc.
I generally never complain about bad service unless it was a huge error.
