Spinoff of pt work-Changing Dept's within your Company-??
I see online that there is a job at my company that is part time at night. How do I go about going for the job? Do I tell my boss first or apply for the job first? I don't know the etiquette of this. Thanks!

I don't know if that's possible - you would have to speak with HR first.
I believe there's some type of "law" or "clause" about working 40+ in two different roles for the same company.

Do you want it in addition to or instead of your position? I changed within my company, and waited until I got an interview and then told my boss.

I would definitely talk to your boss first.
He/she should learn about your interest in the job first rather then HR telling him or her before you do. Most people don't like those kind of surprises!

Exactly. I had to get permission from my manager before I was allowed to interview with another dept.

I would at least tell them that you are interested. The worst they could say is no. Your interest shows loyalty to the company and they will think of you next time something comes up.
