Spinoff- Quality Review... TEll us all about em !
and by "us" I mean those that havent had a teaching job yet.
What exactly is a Quality Review? What does it consist of ? How many Admins are evaluating you? Are you given advance notice, or specifics on what to prepare for ? What is the final meeting/results like ?
gosh, you guys got me really nervous now. 
But im sure you will all do great !

Basically good ol' mike b hired these british people to come and evaluate all NYC school. They come in for a few days, depending on the size of the school, walk through classrooms (usually predetermined), meet with parents, meet with students, teachers, etc. and grade the schools. They look for things like differentiation, bulletin boards, rubrics, etc. It's nerve racking.

Long Island schools do not have the QR British team. Typically they have in district/school evaluations!

no, thank god. we are only accountable to our individual district's superintendent and board of education. teachers get evaluated, but it's a lot less stressful than this sounds.

I don't want to jinx anything but ours was great last year!
I didn't think it was so great when I was a lucky chosen teacher to have the man from the QR visit me room...I made myself phyically ill the weekend before. It turned out the man was so nice...he was an older English gentleman. He came into my room, observed what I was doing and what my students were doing and liked what he saw. Our school did very well last year.

when I taught in the city last year my principal went bananas over this. She made everyone life a living hell and we got a great score. They came in to to predetermined classrooms, like the PP stated. However, he went through EVERYTHING.
