Spinoff to 2 books into movies: Jane Austen fans
On PBS Channel 13 (WNET) coming up
From Masterpiece Classic 2008 Season, The Complete Jane Austen:
Emma - March 23, Sunday, 9pm adaptation with Kate Beckinsale and Samantha Morton
Sense and Sensibility - March 30 (Part 1) & Apr 6 (Part 2), Sundays, 9pm this is a new adaptation, I think
I watched Pride and Prejudice in February with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy . I didn't love the actress for Elizabeth Bennet, but I thought she was good as sophisticated reserved.

I fell in love with this version the first time I ever saw it. It is actually the reason I started reading every Jane Austen book imanginable. I loves her as Elizabeth. And Colin Firth-I just watch this over and over again on DVD to see him. Perfect-and perfect again when he did the Bridget Jones version of the same character.

I love this version, as well. I would definitely watch it again on DVD! Colin Firth was perfect, yeah. I love how he made his character grow. love the shots of Mr. Darcy's mansion grounds.
What do you think of the Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson?
I'm starting to try to finish reading Persuasion, now. I haven't read Pride and Prejudice, but I definitely want to now.

I liked that version of Sense and Sensibility as well, however I have to say that though I like Emma Thomspon, I thought she was a little too mature to play that role. I want to see the PBS version!

Yes! I thought Emma Thompson was a little mature for that role, too. I definitely love her as an actress, though. The production quality of that one was nice.
I finished watching the PBS Sense and Sensibility this past weekend, and it was okay. I thought the actresses for the sisters in these roles were very good.
Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth is still my fav.
