Spinoff to all the Whats For Dinner threads
What do you do if SO is a picky eater? I dont cook, I hate it and I hate my kitchen so DH usually throws together a quick thing. We seriously eat like college kids.
Now that we are going to get a house with a nice big kitchen, I want to start making real dinners but DH is so picky.
He wont eat veggies, if its chicken it has to be cutlets, no fish/seafood, lamb... oh the list goes on and on.
What am I going to do?
I know when I have kids, I will make a full square meal and DH will have to "fend for himself" if he doesnt want to eat what I made but what about for the next 3 years?

My Fh is so picky. He won't eat any cheese that's not moizzerella, he hates like any condiments. This is my solution. healthy choice dinners were one sale at key food last night, so I bought a bunch. He can eat them ehenever he wants, and I have some healthy frozen vegetarian dinners for myself. When it's just the two of us though I only cook if it's something he wants also,

I have many food hangups and DH has a few himself. You learn to experiment with ingredients and be creative with your menu.
A friend of mine keeps a kosher household for her boyfriend who also happens to be diabetic and they have so many restrictions. I figure if they can prepare meals, I can't complain.
We are here to help!!

honestly I make thing I think are so good and have him at least try it before he decides. He know likes mushroom, raw tomatoes, and many other veggies that he never would normally try or order for a meal when we are out to eat.

Maybe you can try and make something and have him try it. If he truly doesnt like it, he doesnt have to eat it. I did this with my DH - he usually ends up liking it. He has this thing in his head that if its "diet food" he wont like it. (if it was a low fat recipe or something)

The thing is, he wont even try it. When we go out to dinner and it comes with a salad he eats one leaf and says "there, I ate my portion of wet paper for the evening"
If it were up to him it would be chicken parm everyday.

Well if he is THAT picky........
I would just make a square meal for myself and my children and he can eat whatever part of it that he wants. Or you can make a huge batch of whatever it is he likes and freeze portions of it for him to reheat for himself every night.
Now I know what to bring next time I come over....a big ol head of lettuce!

Oh wait! I have to tell you about chicken, he can only eat cutlets because he doesnt like to see the tendons on the legs, wings, breasts.

I know a girl whos husband only eats chicken & steak. That is it....so she's lucky because that's all she cooks.
Dh is not a picky eater He likes anything I cook.

Re: Spinoff to all the Whats For Dinner threads
I married Rain man when it comes to food so I FEEL your pain...I cook two dinners at least 5 nights if not 7 nights a week.
Dh eats NO vegatables but corn and ONLY frozen corn?!?!?!?
Dh eats NO fruit but apples, and like once a month
He does not eat anything mixed..like cheese on chicken or anything thats not PLAIN and he doesnt really like fish, steak etc..
He will eat plain chciken or chicken fingers,
He eats mozzerella sticks, but hates mozzerella...go figure??
NO cheese, eggs, milk, cereal, crackers , soup, no cold cuts, no pasta etc EVER touch his mouth.
He only eats certian "brands" of bread, ketchup, soda.
I think you get my point...I live in Food HE LL I swear it, and I told him my children will never ever ever grow up that way! EVERRRRR
