spinoff to another haircut. How old was DS when he got his first haircut?
Is it true you are supposed to wait until one year, or is that an old wive's tale?

The one year "rule" is a tradition amongst some cultures.
My MIL is a very non-religious Jew but in her family (which is very female dominated ) they do not cut the boys hair until one year old. I gave in to her on this tradition.
Thankfully, my DS's hair did not really start to grow and need a cut until about 1 year so it didn't really matter.
I didn't honor the Jewish tradition of naming either of my kids by the recently deceased initial so I think I earned some points with this.

DS didn't have much hair until well after 1, so I think he was about 14 months old before his first haircut..

DS#2 just got one last week at 15 months old!

I cut DS's hair when he was 15 months. I cried afterwards because he looked so much older.

 6 months! He's almost a year old and he's had about 6 haircuts total. 3 from a barber and 3 from me.
