Spinoff to baby food
The plastic Gerber containers...do you put the spoon in and feed DC and then put the rest in the fridge or do you do what it says and put what you are using in a bowl and the put the rest away so you don't get saliva in it?

I put what I am going to use in a bowl. But now he eats the whole container, so it doesn't really matter. But I have one of those bowls with two sections and I put the veggies in one and the fruit in the other, or the cereal in one fruit in the other. I find it to be easier that way.

Re: Spinoff to baby food
if the baby is going to eat the whole thing you can feed them out o fthe container. Once baby's saliva hits the food you should throw out the remaining food. The bacteria in baby's saliva begins to break down the food and can turn it rancid.
i do both, feed when i know she'lleat it all from jar and spoon it out when i know she won't. I just use a reg gerber bowl, she loves to have a taste of everything on one spoon when she eats.

I do that too, I dont put them back in the fridge if I used the spoon in the container.

Re: Spinoff to baby food
I just take out what DD is going to eat. I am careful not to contaminate the uneaten portion. If not, it becomes a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria.

I spoon right out of the jar or container. And even if there is some left I put it in the fridge and save for later.
I even do that with bottles on occasion yet we rarely have a problem with him finishing a bottle.
