Spinoff to before and afterschool care
DD is turning 3 in February. She's been in daycare since she was 13 weeks old.
Although Daycare is expensive ($13k a year) I'm now starting to think about when she goes to school and how we are going to handle the before and after school care as well as the gazillions of days off they have during the year and also summer break.
I think W Babylon has an after school program which is great. They follow the school calender....
But what do I do about all the days she has off?
So BTDT moms who work...what do you do?

Re: Spinoff to before and afterschool care
Does the day care center she;s in now offer before and after school care? A few centers may and they may accept those children on days when schools are closed.

Re: Spinoff to before and afterschool care
It does, but the daycare she goes to now is in Farmingdale.
I was hoping to find some sort of thing within her school district so she could be with her friends from her new school.....
Am I over analyzing this?

Re: Spinoff to before and afterschool care
I don't think you are over analyzing it! Childcare during school breaks is a huge issue since most schools don't offer school vacation care. I personally know of one district that does and it's not mine!
I have sent DS to Tutor Time in the past for their "fun days". Other times I either bring him to work, his dad brings him to work or we take the days off. I don't have any babysitters, so that's not an option for me. It kind of bums me out that the school sponsored programs don't offer anything since afterall, the ones that use before/aftercare are the ones that really need care during the breaks!! I was looking at the school calendar the other day and they have almost a week off every month starting in February! They have TWO spring breaks this year! Insane!!

Thanks for telling me I'm not over analyzing things....
I also looked at the SD calender and I think they have like 35 days off during the year...didn't even count the 1/2 days which I'm sure they have... It's insane.
