spinoff to chemicals

Did anyone see the Wife Swap this past Monday? One family lived in Iowa and didn't use any chemicals and didn't cook their food? They ate raw EVERYTHING- eggs, chicken (both of which they farmed/raised- they were self sufficient)... they didn't even use toothpaste- they used fat and clay mixture (ewe)...
the whole chemical thing reminded me of it.

I saw it. They took the raw thing a little too far. RAW CHICKEN???
And the dad was eating AGED raw chicken!!! (high meat )

And when crunchy mom asked for scissors for her armpit hair, I almost barfed.
What a nutty family. I loved when the dad from the other family left her azz on the farm holding the chicken!

That was the most disgusting episode I've ever seen. All I kept thinking was Salmonella, Trichinosis, E-coli, etc, etc....

If chemicals and cleaning are killing us, how come in the last 100 years, basically when we really started bathing more, washing everything, and using chemicals, the average lifespan of humans has more than doubled?

They are also not self-sufficient. They need gasoline to drive their tractor, they didn't appear to have a wood-burning stove for heat, their clothing was not made in-house by gathering wool or cotton, etc, etc....

The complete lack of education also bothered me. Even farmers need to have some education. When mom and dad die, who is going to pay the taxes, pay the mortgage if they still have one, deal with the legal issues regarding their parent's death, taking care of the farm totally on their own, etc?

RAW! Chunks of raw chicken on a plate!!!! And they aged the raw meat somehow too, and drank spoiled milk and ate spoiled cheese!!! Disgusting!!!! And they had to eat every 5 hours (part of the diet) so the mom would wake up the kids in the middle of the night to feed them that crap.

And yeah, no school because "it's boring"? The kids supposedly learned everything they needed to know on the farm. Wackos.

They hardly showered because "bacteria is our friend".
I bet that's one sweet smelling family!

I died a thousand deaths when I saw that chick's legs and armpits.
Nevermind the raw food!!
