Spinoff to Christmas Eve Menu

Does anyone have a tried and true great sauce recipe? Also...what brand of canned items do you use? I am trying to experiment and not finding what I am looking for.

I use Tuttarosa Canned Tomatos for my sauce...only Puree and I also use Diced tomatos....no paste or crushed.

My MIL told me to only use red pack, she uses one can of tomato puree to one small can of tomato sauce.

Use the Giada (from Everyday Italian)'s quick marina sauce recipe. It is simple and easy. I use it all the time. I think it is on Foodtv.com

if im making baked ziti or anything for a big crowd i always buy sauce from my favorite italian restuarant...they prob will sell it to you..otherwise if im home i just use ragu and add all fresh spices to it to make it somewhat my own...parsely, basil, oregano, even a packet or two of sugar, red peppe,r salt, and black pepper..not sure if i was a big helpChat Icon

I buy the can of whole peeled plum tomatoes and put them in the blender. I like that better then the puree or sauce. I do 4 large cans and 1 can of paste.

I always make my own sauce, let me know if you want the recipe.
