How old was your DC when they actually made a list or verbally requested things?

DS is 4 and he can def give me a list verbally. He circles it in the tru catalog (however, he wants everything). He did this last year too!

I'd say DS was almost 4 last year and went thru the toy ads and pointed to what he liked.

DD is three and she looked at the TRU mag and pointed at things she liked. When asked she also told me what she wanted that was not pictured.

DS is 4 and makes no requests for toys, so I was just curious. He is a little delayed with some other behaviors, so maybe by next year he will have some requests.

If the kid is really not exposed to TV commercials or doesn't go to stores a lot then they are not going to really request specific things. I don't think they are behind in that case. My son now looks at flyers and he has The Smurfs catalog with the characters he wants circled but if I threw those things out he would just say he wants toys and I would just know what types he likes. If he does not get the Smurfs that he wants he would know that they are hard to find and he wouldn't get too upset.
