Yes, we can bring a guest. I would go without DH if he didn't want to or couldn't make it.

the ones we had at my school, SOs were invited and he would always go with me. I would not go alone since it is a big dinner/dance and people bring their Sos
This year at the part-time job I have they have a lunch/dinner thing--and SOs are not invited. He would not be able to come since he is at work when the "party" is. I will go without him

No they are not invited as it is during office hours. We do a luncheon. I don't mind that my DH is not invited.

When had parties in the evening, spouses and sig others were not invited. I went anyway -- it was more fun being social with everyone rather then making sure he was ok since he doesn't know anyone I work with.

This is the first year that we are allowed to bring spouses/children. DH can't come though because he has a gig that night.

Nope. The male attorneys use it as an excuse to go out, so they made it so that no spouses were allowed.
As for the other employees, only myself and one other lady have spouses, so they just tell us no.
