Spinoff to Craziest Advice
Why do perfect strangers feel the need to tell you what your child "needs". I was in the supermarket before with DD is the cart. The cashier says this"
"She's cute, how old?"
me: "4 and a half months, thank you"
Cashier: "She looks like she wants to suck on something."
me: "Oh really, what do you mean?" DD was perfectly content sitting there.
Cashier: "You s hould give her a binky".
me: "Oh she doesn't use one".
Cashier: "Well you should try to give it to her. Maybe put something sweet on the end".
***?!?!? DD was sitting there looking around not making a peep. What gave this woman the idea that she wanted to suck on something? And what in the world would I ever put "on the end" on a binky anyway even if I wanted to do that????
I'm still laughing about this and it was 2 hrs ago!

Yeah...people in stores are fun. A few months ago we were in Homegoods and the line was wrapped around the store...but I was determined to make my purchase...so we waited. A few minutes into the wait my son starts getting antsy so I give him my cell phone to play with....next the keys and the woman behind me says "you're spoiling him and it's going to have to stop now"

oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wouldve said no u know whats going to have to stop now? u giving me advice like i would actually listen to a stranger!

that is funny but related to the "sweet stuff", the nurses in the hospital sometimes will put sugar water on your nipples to get the baby to latch...I guess everyone is born with a sweet tooth
