Spinoff to Do you Love your Stroller - Do you find that some "favorite" or "best" reviewed strollers just don't work for you or DC?

DS is on the bigger side and I looked at some many strollers. Some where great for me! But REALLY NOT comfortable for DS.

Am I the only one who does not see the big hypes for some greatly reviewed strollers?

I feel the reviews are more for the convinience of the parents sometimes and not so much on the comfort for the kids.

What stroller do you have now?

IMO for a bigger kid and the best push a Maclaren is a must...honestly though my favorite is the Techno (I've had both the Quest and Techno) The Techno has suspension and better features although it's more pricey.

They have some brand new on ebay for $200...still pricey but much better than $320. They will last you a long time (55lb weight limit) and they can take a beating.

The only negative factor when it comes to Maclarens is their tipiness factor...you cannot have any bags hanging when you remove the baby because the stroller tips back...other than that I think that is the best option for a "bigger" baby or older toddler.

Yes YES YES!!! I HATE my Maclaren quest sport. I got it b.c so many moms said how great it was - and honestly it isn't a great quality stroller at all. I could have gotten something much better for less money.

I have a stroller I love. It's not a "popular" stroller by any means, yet it's the best stroller. I just love this stroller.

It's just that I find a lot of strollers don't have seat deep enough for DS. Yet, they have the best reviews. DS would have fitted in them when he was less than 1 year old but not anymore. DS does not like to be "squeezed" into a stroller. I don't blame him.

ITA....a few items that were highly rated just did not work well for my DD, who is on the larger side.

I have a Maclaren Techno Classic and I love it, it has held up beautifully over the last 2 years, its been on about 6 flights and not got a scratch on it. I love it.

I loved my Bugaboo Frog when my son was a baby, but imo its not really a great pushchair for a toddler.

Yes I hated Bagaboo frog. It was too big, too bulky, to hard to fold, too hard to put it in the car and worst of all not big enough for a growing baby/toddler(I mean if I am going to pay so much money for a stroller I expect to use it for a while, not just few months). The only good thing about it(I found ) was that it was very easy to push with one hand(smooth) I think it's(was)so overrated and I know so many Bagaboo moms who feel the same way.

I have two friends that hate their Bugaboos. And one that hated their Quinny.

The one that had a Quinny and one of the Bugaboos both went and got the BOB because I have it and love it. The other one still uses her Bugaboo but complains all of the time.

I felt that way about many items.... the graco carseats didn't clip in that well to me... the key fit was much much easier...

as for strollers, most are too short! DH is 6'4" and I'm 5'9".... very few strollers had a high enough handle bar. Obviously, DS is tall too.... so we needed a stroller that DS could grow with... Also, many people rave over chicco and graco strollers, or mclaren... all these strollers have small wheels... they would totally tip over on bumpy sidewalks (which are everywhere in our town!)

So bumbleride indie worked perfectly for us... but it's hardly a common stroller. you could probably count all the LI indie strollers on one hand Chat Icon

I actually love all my strollers but I didn't go with the most expensive. My favorite is my umbrella stroller that is made my Baby Trend. I like it much better than the Maclaren and got it for $19 at a cosignment store. It has really LONG handles which is great for my DH who is 6 '2. It reclines and has a huge basket. It is not "tippy" and is very smooth.

I actually love my Graco Metrolite, both my kids are big. It is big enough but not too heavy and has an adjustable handle height. I tossed all my other strollers.
