spinoff to Felicia's rainboot post
To the ladies that work in NYC -
what do you wear to/from work on your feet?
I usually wear the shoes that go with my outfit for that day but with this rain I've been wearing my sneakers.
I do like the look better though of my work/outfit shoes

I busted out the boots this week. Thick heel & keeps me dry. I have a pair in brown and black and it took me through all the rain. I only wear a different shoe to work/at work when it snows, then I pull out my columbia snow boots and change when I get to work.

Re: spinoff to Felicia's rainboot post
When I had a shorter walk to/from Grand Central, I wore my work shoes.. your typical black or brown, reasonable/wide heel..
Sometimes I would still change to cuter shoes/boots at work, depending on what I was wearing or if I had lunch plans, etc...(at my office I honestly don't care much about how I look, I'm at a desk 8 hours a day)
Now that I walk many more blocks each way, I wear something more practical to walk in. This week I actuallly first wore my sneakers but they were not cutting it in the rain, so I switched to my black boots...
ETA: I honestly cannot belive how many ladies can run around NYC in high heels without killing themselves. More power to 'em, and they do look awesome.. but I would surely fallen/sprained my ankles multiple times in high heels

In the summer, flip flops to and from, and then I change it to my "work shoes". I have a shoe drawer here at work
In the fall / winter, I wear my sneakers on dry days and boots on rainy / snowy days. At first I felt stupid and old lady-ish, but after a while I just didn't care. I'd rather be warm and dry!

Depends on the shoe. A low heel, I will just wear them in. A high heel, I will break out the sneakers. If I am wearing boots, I will just wear them in.

Re: spinoff to Felicia's rainboot post
When I was working in the city, I would wear boots on snowy days and regular shoes the rest of the time. It wasn't a long walk from the subway to the office and I don't like uncomfortable shoes so I never wore them (even to look good)
In the summer, I wore sandals. No one in my old office cared. They actually looked at me strangley if I was dressed up in what most people consider work clothes.
